Vojvodina has a long and precious cultural tradition.
Serbian nation in Vojvodina, separated from the native country by concurrence of historical events, established in the eighteenth century as an independent local culture consisting of Saint Sava's and epic national tradition enriched by the enlightenment of Western and Central-European culture. For 150 years it has presented the highest reach of spiritual life of Serbian nation in general, while its achievements and new awareness were afterwards brought back to the native country.
Cultural picture of Vojvodina has been created also by cultures of other nations that settled in these territories in the course of centuries. Joint life of numerous nations unavoidably led to mutual cultural influences, but did not impede creation and reproduction of their own cultures. The riches of heritage, inheritance and influences of nations living in Vojvodina make this community a specific cultural entity.
