FINE ARTS
In the course of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries fine arts in Vojvodina developed from zographic painting to works with characteristics of modern directions of European arts. In the nineteenth century, painters completely accepted modern European art directions. Serbian painting got numerous great painters in that century. The most outstanding are Konstantin Danil, Nikola Aleksic and Katarina Ivanovic.
Famous romanticists are Djura Jaksic and Novak Radonjic, while famous realist is Djordje Krstic.
Two extremely popular painters Paja Jovanovic and Uros Predic belong to the Academic Realism.

Painters inspired by Vojvodina scenery, which dealt with themes and looked for an expression within the context of European artistic courses, became known in the period between the two world wars. Outstanding painters of that direction were Petar Dobrovic and Sava Sumanovic. Milenko Serban and Stevan Bodnarov were born in that period and they achieved the artistic maturity after the Second World War. Milan Konjovic stood out in modern painting almost the entire twentieth century. Among the fine artists who strongly reflected European courses and gave specific hues of Vojvodina scenery, stand out Milan Kecic, Jovan Soldatovic, Bosko Petrovic, Milan Kerac.
Noticed are works of painters who gathered around "Nepker" of Subotica, such as Gabor Almasi, Jozef Ac, Tivadar Vanjek.
Naive painters, who are usually Slovaks, acquired a world reputation.
Naive painting has its roots in Kovacica, Uzdin, Padina and Sid. Among the most famous naive painters are Martin Jonas, Zuzana Halupova and Jan Husarik.
