CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS
In each town there are cultural institutions, specific by gathering and work of cultural creators. In fact they are places where cultural wealth of Vojvodina is kept, preserved and treated.
The most significant cultural and scientific institution in Vojvodina is Matica Srpska. The oldest library of national importance is the Library of Matica Srpska. Matica Srpska also established the oldest museum that developed into today's Museum of Vojvodina.

Specific by their directions are Theatric museum of Vojvodina, and Natural Collection of the Institute for Protection of Nature of Srbia - a unit housed on Petrovaradin Fortress. The most significant works of fine arts are kept in the Gallery of Matica Srpska and Gallery of the Modern Art in Novi Sad, Modern Gallery in Zrenjanin and in galleries of naive arts in Sid and Kovacica. Many galleries accumulated their funds by organizing artistic colonies.
The central archive institution is the Archive of Vojvodina in Novi Sad. The Archive of the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts is located in Sremski Karlovci.
Theatric institution of high reputation in the country and abroad is Sterijino pozorje, while children's creative works as well as creative works for children are in a very attractive way presented within Zmajeve decije igre.
